Erin Dean says:haha
Erin Dean says: ive got to run but ill think about it!
**** ******* says: Heh, and hopefully how to fix that.

Dear Mutual Friend--
I think the most significant reason is his lack of posts. Clearly Kara is doing her part to keep the blog alive and provide us with interesting content (especially her most recent story). Nick's posts have moved into the merely informative rhelm with details like 'my new car just got here' and away from the 'Nick-ness' we had grown to love.

So, what specefically is missing from his posts? As a statement to the original interestingness of his entries, I believe that i can find an example for each of these by examining successive monthes from the archives of the year he began his blog:

Rants Nick is a great ranter. He doesn't get detterred by stubbornness encountered in his target. This means his rants are thorough to the point of amusing, but none-the-less insightful as well. Case in point: Separation. (January 03)

Titles Nick used to spend a lot of time choosing titles for his entries. They later began to include definitions of the words he chose. Matriarch Lecherous (February 03)

Reality TV Nick used to spend time recapping and analyzing reality tv. I miss those days. Supererogation (March 03)

Ridiculing American Voters (for reality tv voting) Nick used to have so much more emotionally invested in reality tv and he took it really personally when the american public messed up. Feckless (April 03)

Frequency May was a month of 20 posts. May 03

Expensive toys Nick used to buy expensive toys and blog about them. Like his Segway. Spiculate (June 03)

Shoutouts I used to get mentioned in the posts-- that makes them a lot more interesting. I'm pretty much through with that (July 03)

Microsoft Crusader Nick is quite the defender and evangelist for all things MS. This is especially interesting when he’s talking about technology on another platform Your third straight highlight without a break for a feature. (August 03)

Edits defined when made When Nick makes corrections to a post, he defines what the correction was at the bottom. Helpful for those up who whos rss feed gets reactivated and we want to know why. Ow, ankle pain, ankle pain, ankle pain ...

So thats a quick summary of the characteristics that Nick's posts used to have. Okay, so maybe he still defines the edits he makes, but his frequncy is so low I can't remember anymore.

As for ways to fix this? 1) I think we have to be thankful for the posts we do have, curtosy of Kara. 2) Nick's bosses need some pounding for poor upper-level decesions for which Nick and his coworkers are assuming the burdon. 3) Initiate something rant-worthy and convince everyone else to avoid him so he will have no where to vent but on his blog.

Hope that helps!
Erin

I think I assumed that whoever that was wasn't realizing that it isn't Nick posting and just generally calling me boring, but I guess it said "nick's posts" not "nick's blog". Fair enough.
